I travel a lot.. not for work just to see the world… I don’t own anything but a bag full of clothes and an I-Pod… The countries I have been to so far Vietnam, Lao, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, Canada….and many places in the good ‘ol USA …. So I thought it fitting for me……
Looks like Spud (VACATION) has already been spreading the word. The day his knuckles posted I get these knuckles from his friend Andrew C.
This is what Andrew has to say:
I am a touring guy as well, tour managing and running sound for bands far and near. I have worked for The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, Dropping Daylight, Panic Cell, Nonpoint, Sevendust, etc…
I got “HOMEWARD” because it is my favorite place to be. Granted I get bored real quick but that is where my wife and son are and thats good enough for me. So even my first day out on tour is one day closer to being home!
I like that these came in back to back. Two different ways of looking at a similar journey.
These knuckle tattoos can be found touring the world on a guy called Spud. He is a tour manager and sound guy for bands including Terror, American Headcharge, BloodSimple, and God Forbid. His next tour will be with Bury Your Dead.

It says “VACATION” cause my life is a vacation. When I work I tour and do sound and when I’m home I do nothing.

This here is Derek. I met him a few years ago at the Star of Texas Tattoo Art Revival. He makes these amazing Elvis busts with a twist. For example, “Hellvis” is an Elvis with horns and painted red. “El Fez” with a fez of course.My favorite however is “Elvis Presently” which you should definately check out. You can find all these and more at his website: Suffering from Elvis Disease. He also does Halloween themed Virgin Marys.
Like I said, just awesome stuff.
Oh, and the story behind his knuckles? He has narcolepsy.
This here is Jim from True Blue Tattoos in Austin, TX. Shamokin is the name of his home town. When asked why he chose the name of his home town he replied, “Well, it’s got eight letters and I’m always going to be from there. You can send my corpse there when I’ve paid my dues.”
I got tipped off to Corey by a friend of mine at the Skatepark of Austin. I tracked him down on myspace, and asked if I could post the picture and get his story. I’m just going to post his response verbatim:

This here is Pineapple. He owns Shaman Body Piercing located inside Golden Apple Tattoos in Austin, Texas. The short story is that he is a cancer survivor. This here is a close up of his knuckles. It really is a great set.

This comes from my pal Elan who was just up in Seattle appartment hunting. He popped into a cafe in Belltown because they had free wifi and noticed that one of the clerks behind the counter had some fingertats. So he told her about this project, got a photo, and asked her what the story was. This is Jessica, a barista at the Cherry St. cafe in Seattle (slightly paraphrased):
“So I was getting sober, and … drinking was all about instant gratification and getting what you want right now. So, patience seemed like a good thing to keep in mind. And it’s been working good for me so far!”
